While watching Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, I kept thinking about the ways literary elements can be translated into film. My friends and I couldn't help talking about the symbolism of colors and elements, themes of life and death, and the buffet of literary allusions throughout the film. Suddenly, I was back in 9th grade english. I'm sure this would make Mary Shelley smile, making this film a story wonderfully told.
